A couple of questions...

Questions:
1. There is the scene at the commanders birthday party. After that it cuts to Stark at Levine. Then my dvds comes in on a scene at command center where Norman and Jesse are arguing. What are they arguing about. All I get is Jesse saying, "Are you going to run this test or not?" The beginning of the scene is cut.

2. Where did Jesse get the bike at the end of the show? He never says he owns one. He rented a bike for the motocross track.

Some observations:

**In the chase scene with the Ferrari at the beginning, Jesse's visor says 45mph. Was this supposed to be a high speed chase? I think they could have done better with a Ferrari.

**When Jesse and Kevin are on the bumper car, Kevin has on the safety belt. Jesse does not. Rex looked like he was really having fun and serious about it too.

**When SH confronts the Phantom Driver in the flood control channel, I love the way Norman's voice goes up about 2 octaves when he yells, "Shoot".

**As Jesse and Norman are leaving to go to the motocross track, Jesse says, "But my heart will soar like a hawk". Nice choice of words.

**Why can't Jesse carry a hand weapon? He's a federal agent isn't he? He really needed one at the junkyard.

Hell, yeah, I only just noticed that too. Very bad editing there. We enter during the conversation so have no idea what Norm and Jesse are arguing about. Wish I still had the script, I'd be able to tell you if the rest of the conversation was in there...

I think he is entitled to one yeah, but probably doesn't have one on him all the time and has to specially requisition it. He couldn't have used it as Street Hawk as the bullets and firing the thing had to all be accounted for back at HQ which would put him at the scene. That's how I'd interpret it.
But I think Jesse as Street Hawk should have a side arm just incase he is ever parted from the bike and under fire.

BTW, does anyone else think that Jesse's batchelor pad is too upmarket and conservative for Jesse? I cannot make out some of the pictures on the walls, but I just imagine Jesse's place to be a bit more "laddish" Budget obviously coulkdn't warrant decking the apartment out in Jesse's junk, or maybe it was that the apartment was rented, or not his?

I'm probably seeing something which just isn't there, but I wondered if the name of the bad guy in this episode, Burton Levine, was a bit of a dig at Burton Armus? He wasn't the most popular guy amongst some, being plain speaking and from the tough talking streets of Brooklyn. There seemed no love lost between him and other writers, especially of the female persuasion.

Is Burton a popular name in the States?

Now I could really kick myself. I had taped this show when it originally aired, and I still had that tape until @6 months ago. I started cleaning out old tapes and tossed it. I was not sure if it would still be any good since it was over 20 years old. I should have at least watched it to see if it was still good. (Banging my head on the desk).

Josh, don't you have the original broadcasts?

We're looking at cuts from the Bravo screening obviously, which I assume you have too Janice? In "The Adjustor" there is also a missing scene with Street Hawk in the theatre at the end for some reason. Many of the episodes of Knight Rider and Airwolf were also slightly cut from the Bravo screenings too.

45 mph isn't very fast, except you have to remember they were driving down a sidewalk at those speeds! Later on, when the bad guy is driving the Ferrari down the street at fairly low speed, I believe he was slowing down to let his "blocker" take Jesse out.

In the bumper cars Kevin had blood in his eyes, whereas Jesse appeared to be enjoying himself more. I think they were trying to show that the two men had taken different paths; Jesse had chosen the side of good, wheras Kevin had "gone to the dark side" and had given up part of his humanity.

I agree that Jesse should have had a hand gun, but I think that might have detracted from the dynamics of the show. The pilot proved that Jesse looks like a bloomin' idiot running around off the bike with his helmet on. I guess it's a good thing that his helmet fell off in this episode. So I think any scenes with a handgun would really need to be done when Jesse isn't Street Hawk.

Regarding the naming of the characters, I doubt that Burton Levine's character was intended to be a stab at anyone in particular. While not a particularly common name, it isn't unheard of even here in the U.S. Plust the name kind of has that car dealer ring to it "It's Burton Leving and his dog spot! If you want a great car, go see Burton, go see Burton, go see Burton!"

I never thought about the whole scene at the end with the motorcycle. I don't remember it being one of the rentals he had earlier in the show. Who knows, maybe it was Norman's test mule?

Maybe a handgun for Jesse was not a good idea. Seems like every episode where he pulled his gun in cop mode, he got beat up or knocked down.

You know the pilot is the only episode where he uses a gun while in SH mode. He picks up one of the guns at the Corrido estate and uses it. It was the only time he used the hand weapon on the bike too.
