Thanks very much. Hope your's is going well also.
The bike is a 79 Honda GL1000 (or is it 1100...?) Goldwing. It is in fine shape other than the carbs being gunked up, which prevents it from running. I'm letting my father-in-law keep it in the garage while he decides what to do with it.

My friend has one of those Goldwings, its a 1000. They are a Fine machine alright. The 1100 was the first of them that added all the touring gear. Everytime I go to post pictures, I think to myself "If I just do XXX it will look far better", Soon enough Il have to put up or shut up though. I need to get my side panels molded and then I will more than likely have a picture bonanza.

I took a break from the nose once it was in primer and worked on finishing the design of the electronics. They are now 95% complete.
I've gone back to the nose and corrected almost all of the few problems I noticed after priming it and will be coating it with white lacquer hopefully this weekend. Molding supplies will be ordered as soon as it is painted.

The project ground to almost a complete halt for a while because of my church building project. I had no idea going into it how much of my time it would require. It was supposed to be finished about one month ago but the final details stretched that out a bit, and it's still not 100% complete. I intend to get back on this soon. As I mentioned in the helmet parts thread, I will first try to finish them while at the same time molding the front nose. I've purchased all the supplies I need to do the side panels, but they haven't been started yet.
Hopefully there will still be a few checking in to the forum once the project gets back in gear.

Yeah, there's still people checking the boards, though there's been precious little activity as of late. Some progress on your replica would be great to liven it up a little, keep us posted.

I've been pretty busy lately but I try to check the board about once a week to see if anything interesting has been posted. Keep us posted on your progress when you start back up again.

Have "finished" the nose buck several times over the past few months, only to find imperfections that needed to be corrected, which meant more body filler, sanding, shaping, re-priming, re-painting.
I've finally repainted it for the last time in gloss white lacquer. The lacquer needs to be wet-sanded and policsed and then it's ready to mold.
I've created a perfectly symmetrical particle beam door shape in PowerPoint that I will use, and should finish the headlight door tracing soon.
I've begun work on restoring the molded from original series-version side panels to temporarily use on my replica until I finish the pilot-version side panels. I'll post progress pics of them as well from now on as I go.
There should also be an update on the helmet parts thread in the coming weeks.
