Crapola-took a while to load all of those. I'll try to reload them using a different pic hosting site this week.

Looks like the pics are back now!
And I'm also psyched because my title came back from the DMV with no restrictions (If they would have noticed that it was an off-road bike they would have put a phrase on the title saying "off-road use only" and have sent a letter telling me that the tagged issued when I applied was hereby revoked).
This is a huge weight off my shoulders, so now I will be going full-tilt with the bike at the same time as the panels. I stripped most of the plastic off tonight. I'll be scrubbing the entire bike this weekend and painting the frame black.
I spent a couple of hours polishing the wheels tonight. Honestly, I still probably have a couple of weeks to go on the wheels, and I need to by a used brake set-up off Ebay to fit to the bike.
After that, it's off to the shop to get the wheels and brakes fit and the bike lowered.
The next pics I post will probably be of the stripped bike with the frame painted.

So, you're road legal? Cool. Great progress you're making there Seth. I really like the way you're approaching the project from a different angle, obviously more time consuming and costly in the long run, but I'm sure it will be worth it. It will be curious to see the final two replica's - yours and Ryans - together. Not to compare who's best, but as an example to show in one respect you don't need an awful lot of money to go about it and it's not beyond the realms of people who just have a bit of knowledge and passion.

Thanks.
Yeah, it would be cool to get our bikes together, but that might be difficult with such a big pond in-between us! I will be making a website for my bike when it's close to completion.
As to the cost, I'm actually scrimping in many areas. Though I will be using the 13" PM rotor design, I only bought 1, and am having two replicas machined up. Instead of Morris mags (some on Ebay right now for $1000), I went with Enkeis. I've decided not to use the PM brake calipers, but will instead use a late-model Suziki GSXR brake system or similar. Not doing all of the above would have set me back about $2000 more, but it's important to know which compromises you can make and still have a bike that is 95%accurate, and actually still looks 99% accurate, as I hope mine will.
That said, if the actual bike itself is ready by the time the pilot nose is finished, I may go ahead and put the series side panels on itso that I can ride it until the pilot side panels are finished.

I'd love to see a Street Hawk meet where a number of people bring their replicas and Street Hawk inspired work together for a "day at the park". I know it's just a fantasy, but wouldn't that be cool?

Like I said to Streethawkuk my panels will be shipping+what it costs me to produce them. Theres no point in even trying to make money from these and I dont want to. I would be far happier knowing that I have brought joy to a true fan of the show rather than taking a heap of money off them. As for scimping my Xr already has a back disc so I may just put a fake pull on it to mimic the real bike, Im making my own electronic covers and spraying the bike myself. Whatever I can do myself I am doing myself Lol You call that a pond? whats your definition of an ocean lol! ;D

Thanks Scott! Here's a pic of the bike after being spit shined. Any dirt I could get off is off. Next is frame and engine painting... 123pichosting.com/images/8375clean bikesmall.JPG[/img]

I finally selected and bought a set of used front and rear brake systems, front from a 2001 CBR600F4i, rear from an 05 CBR 600RR--thought I'd try to keep everything Honda if possible. I should have them in hand in two weeks, and I should have no problems having the wheels finished by then.
I'll try to post pics of the finished wheels in about a week.

Had some unexpected back problems that sidelined me for a couple weeks. Anyway, the frame and engine are painted. It looks much meaner in black... 123pichosting.com/images/5019bike in black.JPG[/img] I hope my back will be up to finishing the wheels by the weekend. That's the only thing left before taking it to the shop to have them and the brakes fitted.

Looks great!
I don't know why, but almost everything I know of looks better in black.

Hi Spyhunter just wondering if you've got any more juicy pictures of the bike for us?

I'll try to post an updated pic of the nose tonight. I just finished the upper display area, which means that the framing is basically complete. Now I just need to fill in some of the areas with foam and sculpt a bit before the overall shape will be recognizable. But then will be the long and tedious process of final surfacing.
